Rad Strings - Fat

Rad String Normal and Rad String Fat are two very similar strings. The only difference is pretty much just the size. Therefore, this review is almost exactly the same as the Normal review.

About:

Rad Strings are a new brand of string made by Ryan Danielson. They are sold through GN Yoyo Co, who has recently sponsored Ryan.

Ryan buys his own thread and makes the strings by himself at home.

Packaging:

When bought from GN Yoyo Co, they come in packs of 10 and are wrapped in a paper slip with the Rad Strings x GN Yoyo Co logo on it.

They are shipped in an envelope unless you pay for a more expensive shipping option.

First Impressions:

These strings are really soft and thick! Similar to the Rad String Normal, they are really soft and help to keep you from getting a string burn. The difference between the two strings, though, is the size. The Fat strings are really thick and do not work well in yoyos with small gaps. However, for someone just learning to bind, these are excellent.

I have only ever used Yellow (neon, but it is not called "Neon Yellow" on GN's website) before and the color is incredible. It is bright and easy to see against almost any background, especially if you go outside to use them on a sunny day.

Second Impressions: (one week)

Unfortunately, these Fat strings (or at least the one's I have tried) wear out faster than the Normal. After my first week with them, they started wearing down. I still enjoy them, they just cost more than Normal strings because you have to buy more earlier.

Third Impressions: (one month)

One month later and I have gone through two or three strings now. Although they are soft, thick, and really nice strings, they do not last nearly as long as the Normal strings.

Conclusion:

To conclude, these are really high-quality strings as far as play, but they need to last longer in my opinion. I will certainly be getting more, mostly because I am sponsored and I can get them for less, but I still like the way they play.
