About:

Rad Strings are a new brand of string made by Ryan Danielson. They are sold through GN Yoyo Co, who has recently sponsored Ryan.

Ryan buys his own thread and makes the strings by himself at home.

Packaging:

When bought from GN Yoyo Co, they come in packs of 10 and are wrapped in a paper slip with the Rad Strings x GN Yoyo Co logo on it.

They are shipped in an envelope unless you pay for a more expensive shipping option.

First Impressions:

These strings are soft! When you first look at these strings, they appear to be similar to any other string and nothing special. They look and feel this way all the way up until your first throw. After that, it is completely different. The string feels soft on the fingers and almost eliminates string burns entirely. Impressively, they do not feel soft like a used string normally would; they feel like a good soft.

These also feel really bouncy of the first throw (not like "Cloud String" though). Most strings feel this way, but just not quite as bouncy as these.

The size of the string is a perfect medium between too thin and too thick.

I have only ever used Yellow (neon, but it is not called "Neon Yellow" on GN's website) before and the color is incredible. It is bright and easy to see against almost any background, especially if you go outside to use them on a sunny day.

Second Impressions: (one week)

After the first week of using Rad Strings, they are still good. They last a nice long time before it's time to change. They are still about the same feel and the color does not fade. These are still great strings. Unfortunately, though, the bounce they originally had is gone.

Third Impressions: (one month)

After a month, the first string I tried is gone. They last for about two to three weeks with constant throw (which is still pretty good). Going back to a new string is nice, though, because you get that new bounce to the string that only lasts a short while after your first throw.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, these are some really nice strings. I enjoyed my first month with them and I can not wait to get some more when Ryan is done making them.

Overall, they are a good string at all times. They are not one of those things you like the first time, but forget about afterwards. They are lasting greatness like any good string should.

Paul
