About:
YoYoExpert's Slick 6 string, also known as 50/50, is one step up from the old cotton string that everyone used to use. They are called 50/50 sometimes because they are 50% cotton and 50% polyester.
Review:
I have not owned Slick 6 strings in a long time, so this review will be brief compared to some of my other reviews.
YoYoExpert's Slick 6 strings, as already mentioned, are one step up from the old-timer's cotton string. I remember them being better for responsive yoyos; I guess because of the material they are made from. They are also good for new players to use when learning how to bind. After that, they are not too good of a string. They can make an unresponsive yoyo seem more responsive, causing whips and slacks to not work on some occasions. They certainly do not have a well-maintained string tension and take time to adjust, which should not be a problem if the player using them is learning how to bind and begin unresponsive play or using a responsive yoyo without doing slack moves. Slick 6 strings also do not last long.
Conclusion:
To conclude my review, I must say that these strings do come in useful for the beginning player who plays responsive only, just learning how to bind, and does not want to spend a lot of money buying string when spending $11 (plus shipping) on these is the cheapest way to go. Players just starting out do not need to spend that extra cash on higher-end string, because to them, it will most likely not make a difference to them. It takes time for a player to learn what kind of string is good and what is different about it.
